STATE PAVILION & VISITOR CENTRE IN AHMEDABAD BIENNALE

The proposal for the Biennale pavilion is the Indian State of West Bengal situated in eastern part of the country. The idea here is to abstract and represent the state where a peculiar and unique feature of the state, the Sunderbans delta is adopted as the central idea. The delta represents key elements of water, jute and the life around the jute farmers which has been abstracted to its coherent form.
The design of visitor centre in Biennale takes clue from masterplanning where it creates a sense of promenade and strong axis around which the Visitor centre stands.
