SAFEGUARDING THE PARKOTHA FORT WALL PRECINCT

Khan Jahan Darwaza and Parkotha Fort wall Precinct: The whole place is located in the across the old city near Ellis bridge and adjacent to the Sabarmati river on the west, Parkotha precinct developed from 1454 to 1817. There has been an evolution, Development and alteration of the fort wall, gate, well and temples in the joint rule of Mughal and Maratha period. The study can act as the starting point for appropriate conservation approach of the place in positive and appropriate way as the current restoration work of other parts of fort wall is not considering the authenticity of the fort wall.
