FOUNDATION STUDIO II

The studio exercises  in the semester aimed at the further developing of skills learnt in semester 1.  Exercises included a mix of both on-site and class work to develop our skill sets. These included Mapping, Describing Buildings, Gauging Cost, Maximizing efficiency, TRD, Charting Adjacencies, Testing Materials and Model Making that helped us incorporate our learning from the semester into the final year-end exercise of Solving a Design Problem

The exercise helped us describe a site/buiding with respect to its context, structure, construction, functionality and interiors to broaden our view of a site by delving deeper into its details.

The exercise aimed at approving our drafting skills and helped us understand the technical representation of drawings.

The exercise aimed at helping us understand the need for efficiency in a limited space (here, utility room and parking lot) to plan them effectively and ergonomically.

The exercise aimed at helping us understand the structure of a cantilever by making us build one, keeping in mind various factors like dimensions, proportions, weights and forces to produce a structure capable of withstanding the structural load.

The exercise aimed at helping us understand the process of developing a food kiosk while solving the shortcomings of existing models of similar stalls based on case studies.
