. THE WALLED . an interactive exhibition space

Ahmedabad became the first world heritage city of India, since then the city has witnessed a spike in number of foreign and domestic tourists visiting. The most popular way of experiencing these sites among tourists is through heritage walks, but surely this experience could be bettered by adding some other spaces. Designing an interactive public space that exhibits the built heritage of, ‘The walled city’ i.e. old Ahmedabad, modularly designed through blended assembly approach. The design comprises of repitition of a particular module in walls, false ceiling and flooring. This criteria not only fulfils its main objective of ease of assembly and dis-assembly but also provides benefits of flexibility and variety in usage. The space is interactive in a way as it engages and interacts with visitor’s senses, this is done by the use of various exhibiting methods like virtual reality, 3D models and holographic projections. Walled comes out as a space of past for the future.
