AIC-SPACES FOR ALL SEMESTER 3

AMUL The dairy brand is based at Anand, Guarat. The brand is 70 years old ,and the history of the company has been displayed at the ‘DAIRY MUSEUM “ in the main campus in Anand city. The visitor centre was established in 2000 for public viewing. However, with passage of time and advancement of technology the museum display seems outdated and in additional functions to make it more meaningful. The studio aimed at identifying the problems of the existing building and creating solution which would address the same building in a more efficient manner of usage by everyone. The footprint of the existing museum building at Anand is approximately 24 m X 24 m (576 sq m) in plan and approx 8 m height. We had to identify the problems faced by the building in present context with respect to function, form, human needs, language barrier, physical constraints, technology and needs of expansion. The concept of my design was free flowing and rigidity, connecting it my impression about Amul. I have focused on the journey of amul as brand which is reflected through my journey of displays in exhibition space.
