The second part of the studio focuses on a hands­-on holistic craft and sustainability based design project. Based on the learning from the first part, each student will select a paradigm and identify an institution that falls within it. Aspects covered in the study will include understanding of the institutional structure, agenda, strategies, audience, material, fund flow and sustainability - and the role and scope of design in all of these. Each student will then design a space for the institution to further their strategic agenda such as an office/store/museum etc. located in Ahmedabad. The output of the studio must be supported by the learnings of the first part, including strategy and a sustainability approach.
