Source augmentation through water resource management

The aim of this project is to develop water bodies for future, protection of available water bodies from pollution, over-exploitation and to prevent water conflicts in cases of water transfers. It talks about how cities can access a potential water resource in times of dire needs, what institutional framework it needs to follow & challenges associated with the water allocation, conservation & protection aspects to alleviate water scarcity issues which Vadodara or any city for that matter can face in near future. Considering the growing population and increasing water demand it will pose unprecedented challenges for water management in Vadodara. Since there is a dependency on an external source of water and this dependency is likely to increase due to the current rate of withdrawal hence there is a need to sustain and augment the current & potential future sources of Vadodara.
