HRIDAYA KUNJ- POLICY DRIVEN ZONE

The portfolio contains works on critical analysing ‘& intimate understanding of Hridaya Kunj’ through various studies and surveys aimed to ‘Understand the city’ from its planning, functioning, economical aspects and prevailing policies.
Hridaya Kunj, located on Western bank of Sabarmati river is a Special Planned development (SPD) zone is a large area identified for focused development around important structures and to control specific uses. Gandhi Ashram Comprehensive Area Improvement Scheme (GACAIS) is a special control regulation guideline for land-use in this zone. The zone is considered to preserve the character and environment of the area. The central part of this zone belongs to Trust Related to Gandhi Ashram Activities (TRGA) & AMC, The area along the 132’ ring road falls under transit-oriented development (TOD) while the slums of Ramapir Thekra are proposed for slum redevelopment housing project under Smart City mission.
