The objective of the studio was to create a comprehensive housing policy for Rajkot: within which the project looked at tenable slums which could not be redeveloped as they were not on high potential land or the settlement did not want redevelopment.For this purpose, a slum index was created for the slums of Rajkot, based on which the slums MAY be upgraded under two programs: 1. Regularization of Slums Under this, the slums would have to follow DCRs made specifically for slums emphasising on safety and health. 2. Basic services which would be provided free of cost.
