The minimum priced new formal dwelling unit that is available in Rajkot is 10 Lakhs, which is not affordable to 36% of the total population of Rajkot. The cost of a unit generally comprises of the land cost, construction cost, developers profit and the transactions. High priced transactions and exorbitant construction cost due to stringent regulations makes units not affordable to people of all the segments of the society.The proposal mainly deals with reducing the costs associated with multiple transactions and making revisions in the DCR to enable the markets to supply units that are affordable to all.
