Gandhinagar Station redevelopment Project is a part of the national level station redevelopment program in which 510 railway stations are redeveloped to international standards through Public Private Partnerships. Gandhinagar Railway station was one of the first stations identified for the redevelopment program. Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) with the help of Government of Gujarat formed a Special Purpose Vehicle called Gandhinagar Railway and Urban Development Corporation (GARUD) to look after the project. The project includes converting the existing station to a world class station and development of 5 Star Category 300 rooms hotel on the airspace of the station.
