Design and Build

This studio will explore a design process which begins with the understanding that the detail is the generator of design. Character feel and experience of space are embedded in the way in which materials are put together to form unique expressions. The focus of the studio will be on the relationship between materials, details and language of the built form. The materials chosen for this semester are bamboo, wood and steel.
The course requires intensive working in the CEPT Workshop. Students will have to bear the costs of model making materials. The making of the 1:1 scale final Prototype Design will be funded by the School.
