Beyond detail

Retail design is a service-oriented industry where the client has very specific requirement of their space. The primary purpose of the retail space is to stock and sell the product to the consumers. The spaces should be designed in a way that promotes an enjoyable and hassle-free shopping experience for the consumer. To fulfill that requirement, the space must be specially-tailored to the kind of product being sold in that space.

This studio focused on detailing of the retail spaces through design and construction drawings. The studio explored the issue of creating emotionally immersive retail space at every stage in the process and at every scale from the overall design to the smallest detail. Focus was given to crafting the immaculate details essential to delivering the quality of retail experience now required. Students learned different techniques to represent the drawings in 2D and 3D. Different software and different mediums were used to represent drawings. Students worked on their own brand. Students also learned to explore different materials its strengths and weaknesses.
