The Urban Grove

The Urban grove should be understood as a place where one could seek refuge from the buzzling city outside, a kind of pocket of tranquillity. The project has been working with the strategy of minimum intervention. The attempt has been to make use of the current structures, ruins and vegetation to facilitate the coming needs of the Ahmedabad metro. In doing so I want to invite the current local users as well as future metro/ train travellers. The program includes a public library, a sports centre and an informal sports field in addition to more usual functions regarding metro stations.
