Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar Districts have been identified for National Agricultural Development Programme (NADP) from the year 2007-08 with a view to resolve the agricultural development strategies and reoriented to meet the needs of farmers and to evolve strategies to rejuvenate the agriculture sector.
Some notable initiatives by Government of Gujarat includes Soil health card, Krushi Mahotsav, I-khedut portal, Agro Policy and PPP, VGGAS, Subsidies and incentives up to 50% for R&D and so on.
Therefore, the core idea for this project became to transform Peri-Urban agriculture into a dynamic, sustainable and competitive sector to promote and facilitate Socio-Economic development.
