Urban Extension

The Urban Design and Planning Extension Studio was an exercise in envisioning development along the peripheries of expanding cities. It gave us an opportunity to sharpen technical skills as well as our ideological positions on what kind of development is best suited for a given local condition; which was predominantly agricultural. The site chosen was a 10 sq.km area located at the Vaishnodevi circle, along the northern periphery of  Ahmedabad. The project was handled by groups of 6 students each; every group came up with a unique development model for the site.
