Redevelopment Project at Gurukul Road, Ahmedabad

Housing for all is a national concern. Just the phrase ‘Housing for all’ will not solve the problem of rapid urbanization and sharing of resources. Affordability hence becomes the key criterion in the realm of housing. The objective of this studio was to understand the process of a real estate project, hands on. It focuses on feasibility studies, implementation strategies and delivery of the designed program to the end users. In lieu to this, this is a redevelopment project. This is important in today’s context, as our cities are subjected to development pressures in the brownfield areas as well. In the site, redevelopment and free sale units were designed, with financial and marketing models worked out for a win-win situation for users and investors.
