Though the Bhuj City has an arid climate and the average rainfall of 353 mm, It experienced the flood in 2011 and has water logging issues in the rainy season. Encroachment of Natural Drains and dumping of solid waste in drains further escalates the problem. The project focuses on improving the existing stormwater management system of the city by improving the permeability through the use of WSUD (Water Sustainable Urban Design) Concepts like Rain Garden and Infiltration trenches and to let the water ultimately drain into the lakes by improving the Stormwater network of the city.
