Behrampura, is the site of mount pirana (dump site to Ahmedabad) and Bombay hotel area (informal residential area with Muslim population migrated after riots). 40% of the ward is occupied with industries few out of which are  even hazardous.60% of the ward lacks basic infrastructure facilities which together form a vicious cycle of never ending problems in Behrampura. The aim of Area Planning Lab (APL) studio was to study the ward and adopt a holistic approach and provide  proposals that would help ward's growth and development. Data collection, analysis and concept plan of the complete ward is the result of the collective approach of group of 5. Although each one of us were responsible for one of the sectoral proposal. I was responsible for the proposal to regulate industries after looking into secondary data sources, key person interviews and various references. Here is the existing scenario and proposal to regulate industries in the ward and reflecting it in the conceptual plan along with the proposals for other issues as well.
