The aim of the Area Planning Lab is to explore the different aspects of planning through the local area ward plan for Jamalpur. Jamalpur, located in the oldest part of Ahmedabad, is an integral part of the walled city and known for its strong heritage value due to the presence of renowned heritage monuments. As heritage is the main anchor for Jamalpur, a heritage corridor has been proposed, which links the important heritage monuments. Other proposals, namely in the housing sector, aims to provide better and habitable living conditions to the urban poor residing in slums & old dilapidated buildings.
