The main objective of the Area Planning Studio was to prepare a plan for municipal ward to fit into the context of Ahmedabad. Hence through various data collection methods and tools a cohesive vision was proposed keeping in mind people's aspirations, need and issues by covering all the aspects of land use , transport, open spaces, infrastructure, housing.Often for city development the people who don't have formal shelter are pushed out of the city.Having the potential of vacant land it was used to provide serviced land for people with availability of  basic services , hence accommodating the urban poor.
