The aim of Area Planning Studio was to develop an area level plan for Chandkheda ward & thereby equipping us with necessary elementary conceptual, analytical, and communication skills. Chandkheda, a municipal ward under AMC is located to the west of River Sabarmati and north of Ahmedabad. Its strategic location, availability of vacant land and accessibility  makes it economically and socially important. Our study included detailed data collections, data analysis and identification of issues, potential & challenges. As per vision envisaged for Chandkheda, we then proposed a comprehensive plan, financing mechanism & phasing covering all the components like land use, TOZ corridor development, street redesign, open spaces, housing, infrastructure etc. under public realm.
