The objectives of the Area Planning Lab were to propose a new development plan for the ward of Jalmalpur situated in the old city of Ahmedabad. This work has been led in group of students. Through different stages, the methodology applied has started with the first observations of the ward. Then, data have been collected to understand the people’s perspectives, the experience and concerns of the key stakeholders, and further analyzed to identify the issues and potentials of Jamalpur, and finally develop a vision for its future. As a comprehensive work, several interventions have been planned and individually detailed by the group members.
