The aim of the studio was to develop a comprehensive ward plan for Odhav, predominantly an industrial ward on the eastern fringe of Ahmedabad. Odhav is currently in a transition phase where an industrial area affected by the globalization trends, its ageing main worker population and the future generations are going to be into tertiary sector jobs in the other parts of the city. Major focus was on how to rejuvenate a stagnant ward to ensure an accommodating future for its population which is about to see a phenomenal socio-economic transition through various planning tools.
