Bapungar ward is home to many informal economic activities such as incense sticks making, garment stitching etc. and livelihood of most households depend upon these informal activities apart from informal activities there are many retail shops in the households and street vending activities which drives the economic profile of the ward. Casual wage labour and self-employment activities represent the two most important income sources Catering to mostly population of small scale industry workers, household industry workers, laborers etc. With the aim of these people staying in the ward and not moving out due to the coming TOD and to also provide them with better infrastructure and housing where these people can live, work and play.
