The site selected for the project is located near Lal Darwaja surrounded by Sidi Saiyad Jali, Central Bank, House of MG, Bhadra fort and an underground market below the site. Due to the heavy vehicular traffic and no provision for pedestrians, Lal Darwja area has become just a come, move and go place for the people even though having very rich architectural context. The program sees an opportunity to create a public place which can become the Node for all the activities around. It can become a connection to the residential neighborhood to Lal Darwaja, the transition from road to Sardar Baug and pause for the people visiting the area. This connection can pull the selling activities of Lal Darwaja and Khanpur closer and some in one place. It can open up the area; reduce chaos and disorder of the area. A strong sense of place can be created amidst of historic and modern heritage making the area more vibrant.
