Connecting the EXISTING through the BUILT

Water remains ambiguous before a human intervention aligns it through a creative story as seen in the evocative architecture of the desert regions of India. This studio investigated the potential of revisiting these spaces in the contemporary context. It was to rethink the new urban institution with the relationship to water as its focus. The students were asked to learn to research for a purpose, conceptualize design ideas, and interpret a design brief within a specific environment with constraints of material and structure. Relationships to the earth, water and society were also explored in this studio.
