Multi-Modal Hub | Re-envisioning Sabarmati

The main aim of the studio was to understand the importance of planning as a function that balances the needs of people, conflicting interests, and efficient public systems, with the broad goals of enhanced livability, sustainability and social equity. The key learnings have been that the city functions as a multi-layered unit and as it progresses, each layer dissolves into the next forming a complex, unified structure. How the city is enveloped by physical and social entities accountable for the functioning of a city. Cities are a result of a multifaceted mechanism which inflicts its’ externalities that cannot be contained within physical boundaries.
