Walled City of Ahmedabad is recently announced as the UNESCO World Heritage City. Our study area includes a part of this old city and its surroundings. As their is presence of many historic monuments and buildings in the area which has a high potential to attract tourism, the need of a better public realm becomes an important issue. Also due to increasing vehicular traffic and haphazard development, their are no places to appreciate the monuments and moreover it is damaging the monuments. So, to rectify these issues a surgical intervention by participatory process is proposed around these monuments.
