A major population of EWS and LIG households migrating to the city of Ahmedabad for better job opportunities find the only affordable housing in slums.The state of Gujarat adapts this particular vertical under its slum rehabilitation scheme (SRS) of 2013.These policy frameworks have allowed the developers to venture into EWS and LIG projects as compared to their earlier projects which catered to only the Middle income and higher income groups. Therefore, venturing into Slum redevelopment projects provides a new avenue for Real Estate industry.
