Out of the entire area of Ahmedabad City with 91% is sewered area. Our project focuses on the other 9% of the non-sewered areas constituting 3% of the households. Assessment of each stage of the FSM service chain for Ahmedabad City and spatial assessment has resulted in the formulation of policy and physical interventions. Schedule cleaning of the septic tank is one of the important policy intervention whereas inclusion of villages in the periphery of Municipal Corporation limits is physical intervention. Thus, serving the unserved households we will achieve of 'safe sanitation for Ahmedabad'.
