The Indian art community has been growing rapidly and has been emerging onto the world stage. As the first and currently only World Heritage city in India, Ahmedabad is posied to host a Biennale to celebrate the growing art community of the country and the world. A Biennale would also reinfore the image of the city in an international environment. It also stands to bring social and economic growth.
The great philosopher Heidegger once said that “the places make it possible for a space to exist, and the distinguished character of the places is gathering and being together.”
Public spaces are not derived from solid walls or floors but are rather a solution for complicated equations in which variables are real users and the result is rather an event or process than a building/place. Flexible architectural top-down solutions shall not disturb a spontaneous activities so the idea is to think about public space rather as a stage than finally definied solution.
