ARCHITECTURE BY HISTORY

The case of Lucknow city, studio offers an opportunity to contest the dominant narrative of Formalism in architecture with a different application of Historiographic positions, taken to an emphasis on formal production of architecture over three modules, 1. Archival Evidence to produce Palimpsest mapping and Counter mapping in the urban context of Lucknow city. 2. Working with the material evidence for transforming the building, taking discursive positions of past and future. 3. Architectural Intervention focusing on sites of memory during 1857 Mutiny.
