MAATI KALA KENDRA

It is a public private initiative, where the program is set to cater to the needs of both industrially mass produced goods and handicrafts. It is proposed to encourage the creative, intellectual and personal growth of emerging and established artists. A studio residency alongside a fast paced working unit is an ideal opportunity for a developing artist who is looking for a place to pursue focused work while gaining important technical skills and teaching experience.    Maati kala Kendra acts as a bridge between the craftsman and designers, by setting up a dialogue between the two communities. It is a physical manifestation of the union of industrially mass produced crafts and handicrafts. It has a lightweight steel roof structure sitting on a heavy ground structure consisting of rcc and earth bricks.
