The project is imagined as a community-run place for the education, appreciation and promotion of Indian Classical Music, with a personal bias towards Dhrupad, an ancient artform; the oldest genre albeit not popular with the masses. It situates itself in the highly residential and cosmopolitan area of Bodakdev, yet provides a good amount of seclusion, with abundant greenery and a gentle slope. This piece of land is owned by the Maganwadi Trust and has been a culturally active place in this locality, having served as a Kathak Dance Centre and Baalwadi previously. Today it lies in disuse, and has potential to develop into a cultural centre.
