Conservation and Regeneration

Module 1 – The exercise involved on-site measurements and recording of a pol house in old city of Ahmadabad, supported by archival research and information collection from stake holders. Module 2 - Analysis of historic sites resulting into assessment of values and creating a narrative of held heritage values drawn through ethnographic research on site. Module 3 – Understanding the properties of traditional building materials; their life cycles and the processes of their deterioration through condition assessment of pol house. Module 4 – role and complexities of architect or conservationist and the need to recognize various contributions, voices and rights.
