The Foundation Studio was aimed at developing knowledge of various tools for documentation & analysis to interpret historic sites. (Sathwara Residence, Gatrad ni Pol, Ahmedabad)

Module I: Documentation of Built Heritage (Through photographs & measure drawings).
Module II: Analyzing Historic Sites
(By assessment of values of elements and aspects contributing to the significance of the building- A specific area of research was given).
Module III: Understanding Traditional Building Materials | Stone, Timber, Lime, Brick.
(Properties, life cycles, deterioration, selecting compatible materials for repair or replacement).
Module IV: Ethics of Site Engagement(Through design, to recall them appropriately during interventions; Reflective essay on ethics of conservation research methodology).
