Kaleidocycle

Responsive Facades deals with continuous changes in climate conditions, have an important role in reducing energy consumption of buildings while providing higher level of visual comfort. In developing this approach, we created a data-driven design methodology spanning from design inception to construction. A kaleidocycle was used as our module as it is a geometry that has scope to control apertures. We present the general design iterations of kaliedocycle, the mechanical designs to make structure strong and less bulky for a facade design and simulation results to generate and test a multiplicity of responsive solutions.
