The scope of the project was limited to the Departure Area of T2 at SVP International Airport, Ahmedabad. The project analyzes the non-aeronautical revenue generation opportunity for AAI and the retail facilities for passengers from the point they have cleared the Security-hold area till the boarding gate. Passenger movement analysis through Spaghetti Diagrams and Passenger Surveys show the Passenger Behavior of shopping for F&B and other retail products. These results helped identify segments to focus and new ways to help increase sales. The 3-stepped proposal suggests increasing retail options, creating platforms to communicate these facilities and eventually attracting passengers to make purchases. The retail options will be increased in 3 phases first focusing on primary needs, then on duty free products as it drives maximum amount of non-aeronautical revenue in retail and finally coming up with engaging entertainment activities.
