Application of Low Impact Development in Vadodara

Increased Urbanization in Vadodara has led to increase in impervious lands which is causing excessive runoff resulted into incidents of flood and waterlogging. Conventional Storm water management in Vadodara is neither aware nor responsive to stormwater runoff’s harmful consequences, which is dispatching the rain water and untreated runoff from a site to nearby kaans or Vishwamitri river.
Low Impact Development(LID) is an approach of management and a set of practices that can reduce runoff and pollutant loadings by managing runoff as close to its source as possible.
