Pune coined as the most walkable city in India lags dramatically in providing basic safe pedestrian access to its citizens. This leads to the question of whether the title of the most walkable city is still justified in the context of Pune. These problems do have an impact on the overall functioning of a neighborhood, as well as have an indirect impact on the lifestyle and health of individuals. On daily basis people have to take their private vehicles even for the shortest distances for their daily commute to the ammenities.
