Understanding studio helped in analyzing present condition of Naroda located on eastern side of Ahmedabad. A study of physical landscape helped in understanding various aspects of planning, explore and critically reflect on the idea of public space along with its material and immaterial aspects. Also on the tools and techniques of reading and mapping of the phenomena. Kuber nagar is dominated by residential area with various typology. When textile mils shut down in year 1977 left lot of people unemployed, which led to development of Sindhi market stimulating the informal economy. With development of economy and infrastructure helped in growth of residential sector. Expanded use of building typology was peculiarity of precinct. The initial chapters discuss the urban form with different income group living in to it, land use and building typology present in Kuber nagar. By mapping the different scenarios It engaged in the study of the relationship between land use pattern and typology aspects of urban conception and its social-cultural manifestations also. Later it focuses on the final outcome, a documentary describing the relationship between housing typologies and livelihood characteristics observed in Kuber nagar, job generation and employment exchange. Kuber nagar is adapting to the more humanistic and experiential characteristics of life style. This portfolio can be read on bases of concept, attribute, elements and the phenomenon of urban fringe in part and as a whole. The geographical format in urban context with the focus on deep understanding of the precinct in Ahmedabad was the start of this journey.
