The portfolio encompasses a study of 1 sq. km area of Gomtipur located in the eastern part of Ahmedabad city. The primary aim of the study is to unravel the history of the precinct and to understand the various factors and events that led to its present situation, thereby decoding solutions as to how can the scenario be improved. In order to achieve the above, studies and analysis have been carried out by conducting extensive surveys and making observations during site visits. The interaction with the residents and having an opportunity to understand the various layers of how the settlement functions incoherence to various other factors has been a great learning experience so far. I hereby present to you my portfolio, a compilation of my works so far in “Understanding the City” studio.
