Lighting, Day lighting and Integrated Design Lab

The course involved the study of lighting basics, electric light sources, electric lighting design using DiaLUX Evo simulations, also, daylight rules of thumb, metrics, and simulations using LightStanza. It also comprised of analyzing the effectiveness of passive and active daylighting strategies such as light shelves, light wells, borrowed daylight through experiments and simulations. Glare studies and lighting control were also looked into. Whole building integrated simulation involved daylight and energy simulation for a bank office building to analyze performance and propose energy conservation measures.
