The site located just outside the Astodia Gate is a fortified enclosure dating from the Mughal period or earlier. It is threatened by demolition to make way for new commercial and bus station development. The focus of the study is to illustrate the site's heritage values and give an alternate proposal which respond to its Cultural heritage significance while also catering to the fucnctional requirements of the stakeholder's .
