A space that had a set of intended activities as an aim of design becomes host to activities that were never even acknowledged in the process. The new actors in this space, thus, are the dissenters to design, and dissenters to the false bureaucratic binaries.
This photo essay intends to depict and document some abandoned spaces from CEPT Entrance to Navrangpura Gaam and how they become somebody’s lifeline on the street. How these spaces share complex relationships with other actors of the street and how they come together to create the mechanism of dissent to design in the public realm.
