The proposed programme emphasises on the emotional resilience of the people of Surat. The design proposal looks at using landscape as a therapeutic medium to resolve these concerns through a structured programme that involves the contribution of the inhabitants of the city. The interventions focus on two categories- Experiential and Productive Landscapes. The experiential landscape involves creating an aesthetically appealing, bio-rich landscape embedded in the framework of the city, allowing the Surtis to reconnect themselves with nature and take a pause to feel a bit of calm in the hectic madness of their day to day lives. On the other hand, the productive intervention uses urban farming as a medium to involve the community to participate in the stress-freeing activity of cultivating their own food at an individual, neighbourhood or city scale. The programme involves creating and replicating a module which will impact the social, economic and environmental structure of the city.
