The design program aims at the issue of uplifting the life of textile workers in Surat through open spaces. The design intervention is intended to be implemented at the closest contact, i.e. within the textile industrial zones of the city. The successful implementation of the ideas would ensure easily accessible and free open spaces to the workers within their working environments. This would help in releasing the mental and physical stresses which will in-turn improve the productivity of the industry. Also, these spaces are intended to give the workers a sense of belonging and a sense of connection to the city. In an ideal situation, this initiative would affect the overall happiness index of the city by taking care of one of the grass root elements.
