Gandhinagar , being proposed as state capital in 1960, It grew as an Administrative city than the Comprehensive city with markets, industries etc. As it is located near Ahmadabad; which attracted growth of industries and markets , Gandhinagar could not attract population as it was designed for. The current Density oof gandhinagar is 80 PPH where it was designed for 100PPH. With the growth of Ahmadabad, Peri - urban fringes of Gandhinagar city started developing, where Gandhinagar city preliminary, was only catering to administrative population. Sector 28 was demonstrated as case of densification with density of 325 PPH.
