Set in 2030, the divide and hierarchy in society takes an architectural turn with the people being arranged vertically according to their economic status. There are 5 layers and each layer has said amount of floors. The ground for different people is different because even in 2018, with the introduction of the metro and skywalks the perspective of people on viewing the city has changed. So as the years passed by, the rich moved to upper layer and started using another set of transportation than the poor. The concept of a building has been totally destroyed as there is nothing as a building but only floors in layers and certain built area. Thus, there is a vertical barrier created with the live, work, play for each layer differing according to the kind of people living in them. The distinction is that stark that each layer seems as a city in itself. The interesting part is the kind of light quality that each layer receives. There are certainly some privileges that the upper layers receive that the lower layer are deprived of but the intervention to make things humane and livable is the main challenge along with studying light.
